Coldplay add extra dates to Emirates Stadium gigs

Local residents were first in the ticket queue for three huge Coldplay gigs taking place at the Emirates Stadium next summer. The dates set for the events are 1st, 2nd and 4th June 2012, but demand for tickets was high, with box offices selling out within 30 minutes for the first of the two London dates.

Leaflets were distributed to around 2,000 Islington residents, inviting them to buy tickets before they went on general sale. There were also early-bird offers open to 4rsenal season ticket holders, which were released on Friday. Music concerts at the Emirates are rare, and residents are always given priority to lessen the blow of the inconvenience and noise.

But don't worry if you weren't singled out for special treatment in the ticket ballot: promoters are now responding to extra demand: the third date in the schedule was added in at the last minute to meet popular demand for the band, who released their fifth studio album 'Mylo Xyloto' on October 24.
