Farrow & Ball Islington
Chris Stevens Ltd at 545-561 Holloway Road is a well-established hardware store selling all you need for painting, decorating and otherwise doing up your home. There are also larger items on sale here, including kitchen and bathroom fixtures and fittings.
Widely rumoured to sell at close to trade prices for non-trade customers, it's well worth making the trip up Holloway Road to pick up your equipment here. The store also has affiliated tradespeople who can help out if you decide that the job is beyond you (we've all been there).
If you're after some posh paints (and don't mind paying a premium!) you might also want to try Farrow & Ball on Cross Street which stocks the beautiful earthy paint colours that the brand is famous for. It's a short stroll from Upper Street, making it a very easy option.
Another highly rated local option for redecorating projects is SX Wallpapers and DIY on Essex Road. A hardware haven selling everything you'll need to get the job done, it's one of those rare local retailers that really does under-cut the bigger chains.
