FREE CAKE at Hummingbird Bakery's Islington Opening!

One of the key players in the 'cupcake revolution', the Hummingbird Bakery is renowned worldwide for its mouth-watering cakes. Now, you can get them on your doorstep, as the cupcakery is setting up a new branch in Islington! Even better, they want to lure you away from your January abstinence with the offer of free cake...

The shop will be based at 405 St John Street EC1V, and as a special launch day treat they are offering FREE cupcakes to the first 1000 customers to arrive on Friday 27th January. Doors open at 11am, which is the perfect time for tea and cake, so put the date in your diaries now! Even if you're on a so-called detox, chances are it'll be dead in the water by the end of the month...

The bakery, which was one of the first to bring the American-style cakes to London, are inviting you to say goodbye to the winter blues and enjoy one of their classic recipes, which include red velvet cupcakes, vanilla cupcakes and miniature delights. As is the case in all Hummingbird branches, all cakes are made fresh on site on the day of sale, so they never become dry and sickly like some we've tasted elsewhere...the 27th sounds like a date to us!
