It looks like we're heading for a mild weekend with some sunshine peeping through the early winter cloud, so why not ditch the car and head out locally for some fun activities? The Victoria Line is also down all weekend, so it looks like a good one for staying put! Read on for a few weekend suggestions.

The Complete Stone Roses play the 02 Academy tonight
Missed out on tickets to the already-legendary Stone Roses gigs next year - or just so excited that you can't possibly wait until June? You can get a taste of Madchester at the 02 Academy Islington tonight at the Complete Stone Roses gig from 7pm. The tribute band will be playning all the hits from the 90s sensations, for just £10 on the door.
Want to kit out your home and/or wardrobe with retro fabulousness? The Pop-Up Vintage Fair is coming to the Islington Assembly Hall on Upper Street, so you won't have to go far to step back in time. You'll then be close enough to a host of vintage furniture stores along Essex Road if you want to complete the look with some genuine old school pieces.
For those with children or just an interest in surreal and charming puppetry, the Little Angel Theatre will be playing host to the Kneehigh theatre company on Saturday and Sunday with their production A Very Old Man With Enormous Wings. The theatre is celebrating its 50th anniversary at the moment, with lots of extra activities laid on.
Want to get your hands dirty while ensuring a crop of pretty flowers in the spring? St Luke's Garden is hosting a community gardening day on Saturday, with willing volunteers needed for bulb planting and general gardening jobs.
If you're staying in Islington for Saturday night, there is plenty to keep you occupied and amused if the abundant bars and restaurants are not enough already. There's comedy as usual at the Camden Head with stand-up from So You Think You're Funny winner Daniel Simonsen and the wonderfully unique Ben Target, along with Mae Martin and Ant Dewson.
Seen any other fun or interesting activities coming up this weekend? Please let us know!
