London Riots - the view from Islington

It's been a difficult weekend for North Londoners as that riotiong that began in Tottenham High Street on Saturday night has sparked a spate of criminal activity all over London. The noise from sirens and helicopters has been almost constant today, and many residents in the capital are feeling distinctly uneasy.
So far Islington has not seen much in the way of violent scenes, but as reports of spinoff activity takes place in Enfield, Walthamstow, Brixton and the Westfield shopping centre, we are seeing rumours of disturbances in Essex Road this evening as well as reports of looting at the N1 Centre in Angel and at shops along Holloway Road.
Have you seen or heard anything relating to the rioting this evening? Please let us know.

Comments
These riots are awful and I am sure the majority of people involved have nothing to do with the original cause. They are now just using it as an excuse to loot shops and frighten people living in the area. The police need to be tougher and make sure that we don't see the same scenes from over the weekend tonight.
