Lloyd Square, Islington, in the snow
As temperatures fell to -5 degrees c, last night saw around 4 inches of snow fall on Islington's streets, leading to disruptions of bus, taxi and even some Tube services, leaving some club and pub-goers stranded around Angel for a time. But today's transport service are mostly back to normal with minor delays on the Tubes and most road traffic moving just a little slower than normal.
Temperatures in London are set to rise to around 4 degrees tomorrow, with no further snow predicted either during the day or tonight. There are no expected school closures or Underground or rail station closures at this time; TfL has published a statement about its cold weather provision here. Those having trouble with any other aspect of Islington life in the cold can refer to the Council's winter pages.
If you are currently suffering with ill health or are caring for somebody who is, you might find these tips from the NHS helpful. They include advice on what temperature to keep different rooms in your home, and how to keep your body temperature up.
If you've been out and about enjoying the snow today in Highbury Fields, Finsbury Park or any other local open spaces and took your camera, please feel free to share them with us by sending your images to islington@thelocalpeople.co.uk
