Dele Ogun to Speak at ICoC Annual Festive Lunch

The Islington Chamber of Commerce will be hosting its annual festive lunch at The Rotunda Restaurant on December 14th 2011, we are pleased to announce that Dele Ogun, renowned Business Speaker and Toastmaster, will be speaking at this wonderful event.

Dele is an author, a barrister and the founding partner at Akin Palmer LLP a full-service law firm operating from Angel Gate in Islington.

He was raised and educated in Islington at Drayton Park Primary School, Highbury Grove Secondary School before obtaining his LL.B at London Metropolitan University.

Dele was called to the Bar at Lincoln's Inn in 1985 and obtained an LLM in corporate and commercial law from the LSE in 1987. In 1993 he became an Associate of the Institute of Taxation and in 1995 a Solicitor of the Supreme Court.

He worked as a lawyer in the leading City firms Coopers and Lybrand and Lovells from 1987 to 1997 before leaving Lovells to start his own law firm in 1997. The firm won the New Business of the Year Award from the North London Training and Enterprise Council for 1998.

Dele has served in a variety of non-executive capacities including as a member of the London Regional Board of the National Lotteries Charities Board and as Trustee of the North London Mentor Trust. He was formerly a member of the Training Committee of the Law Society and a member of the London First Business Manifesto team for the Mayor and Greater London Authority.

He is a published author with a highly acclaimed autobiography: The Law, the Lawyers and the Lawless. He has now become a publisher in his own right with the imprints Arbuckle Books and Lawless Publications.

Married with two teenage children, he is a member of Toastmasters, the international public speaking group, and a passionate Arsenal supporter.
