Happy update on Witherington Road house fire

Over on our twitter account last week, we were discussing sightings of a dramatic-looking fire rescue taking place in Witherington Road, Highbury. There were several engines parked in the road, ladders extended into the third floor of a house and what appeared to be dozens of firefighters on the scene.
We've since heard via the Islington Tribune that the fire service was called after a teenaged resident discoverd the house was on fire, having been woken up by a very well-timed phonecall from his sister! He's been sleeping when his parents' tumble dryer 'exploded', causing the fire. His parents were out at the time, but once the firefighers arrived, they were able to quicly lead him to safety.
What a lucky escape for one of our young residents!

what a lucky guy! I saw something going on and thought it might have been a tragic story. Glad to hear all escaped unscathed!
