I've only just discovered this place, after hunting around on a Saturday for a restaurant with a table for a large family meal. Di Montforte had space, so we headed over to Liverpool road to give it a try, not really knowing what to expect beyond a promise of great pasta! I was initially a bit put off by not having heard of it despite living in Islington for years, but am really glad we gave it a go! The pasta here is truly exceptional: cooked just right, which I think is every bit as much of a fine art as creating good sauces. We had a tasty and varied starter platter to share, and the service was great. The only thing I wished had been different was the fact that we were the only people dining at 1pm on a Saturday – I honestly have no idea why this should be as it's a great restaurant. I can't blame them for the poor show so I won't deduct a fifth star on that basis alone but people should visit this place!
