Football season comes to Arsenal country as Fabregas finally agrees to stay

Every year it seems to come a little bit sooner, and every year the burger bands and hotdog stands return to feed the hungry hordes of the Red Army. Yes, football season is now upon us, and Arsenal are off to an optimistic start as captain Cesc Fabregas has finally annnounced that he will stay with the club.

The first home game for Arsenal will be against Blackpool on Sat 21st Aug
Gunners fans breathed a collective sigh of relief today as the Spanish midfielder announced his intentions to stick with Arsenal despite interest from Barcelona; not only his home town, but the club he had always dreamed of playing for. He apologised to fans for his delay in making a decision, admitting it had left him torn.
In his statement to thre press, Fabregas said: "I cannot deny that moving to Barcelona was an attractive proposition, however I am fully professional and committed to Arsenal".
Arsenal's first fixture this season will be against Liverpool on Saturday 15th August at Anfield. The following weekend, they'll be back at the Emirates to face Blackpool.
